FAQS
Not sure if microneedling is right for you? Let’s explore answers to our most frequently asked questions.
-
Microneedling is ideal for anyone seeking to improve their skin texture, firmness, and overall health through a natural, non-invasive approach. The treatment particularly benefits those with fine lines, acne scarring, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and mild skin laxity. This versatile treatment extends beyond the face and neck—it can be performed on the décolleté, hands, arms, legs, and scalp for hair restoration. It's also effective for treating cellulite and scars from C-sections and other surgeries.
Microneedling is best suited for clients 25 and older, when the body's natural collagen production begins to slow. While younger clients may benefit in specific cases—such as treating acne scarring or surgical scars—it's not recommended for preventive use before natural collagen loss begins.
-
While microneedling is safe and effective for most people, certain conditions require postponing or avoiding treatment. You may not be a candidate if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have active acne or open lesions in the treatment area
Have an active cold sore or a history of cold sores
Are experiencing a flare-up of eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea
Have a history of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
Are currently using Accutane (or have used it within the last year)
Have undergone chemotherapy or radiation within the last year
Have any active infection or compromised immune system
Have had facial injectables, cosmetic procedures, or laser treatments in the past 2 weeks (depending on type)
Have any immunosuppressive diseases
Have blood clotting problems or hemophilia
Have severe allergies
Take photosensitizing medications
Have frequent sun exposure (sunbathing, tanning beds, outdoor occupations)
Have scleroderma
Have collagen vascular diseases or cardiac devices (pacemaker)
Have warts
Have liver disease
Every client will receive a thorough consultation to ensure microneedling is both safe and appropriate for their skin.

We use a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort. Most clients feel a light vibration or scratching sensation. Some areas (like the lip line or jawline) may feel more sensitive, but the treatment is generally very comfortable.
Microneedling is designed to create controlled pinpoint bleeding during treatment, especially in targeted areas. However, visible bleeding is typically minimal and not present by the end of the session.

Most clients experience redness for 12–24 hours, along with mild dryness, flaking, or tightness for several days. For the first 3 days, avoid makeup, heat exposure, sweating, exercise, and sun exposure. Results begin to show within a week and continue improving in the following weeks.

Results vary for each person based on their overall health, diet, hydration levels, and adherence to aftercare instructions. The number of treatments needed depends on your skin's unique response and the specific concerns we identify during your consultation.
For general skin rejuvenation, most clients achieve excellent results with 1–3 sessions spaced 3 to 6 weeks apart. More significant concerns, such as acne scarring or deeper wrinkles, typically require 4–6+ sessions. To maintain results and support ongoing collagen production, we recommend maintenance sessions every 4-6 months. Your results will continue to improve with each treatment.
